Happy birthday, Danica Patrick! The reigning queen of NASCAR turns 31 years old today.
Patrick sent 30 out with a bang — she got the birthday party started early in Vegas with boyfriend (and fellow racer) Ricky Stenhouse last week, then was named named favorite female athlete at the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday night.

Kyle Larson’s Chevrolet went airborne into the Daytona International Speedway frontstretch catchfence after being collected in a last-lap crash triggered when leader Regan Smith tried to block a move by Brad Keselowski off Turn 4 in the Drive4COPD 300. Both a tire and Larson’s engine reached the grandstand side of the catchfence in the 12-car wreck.

The fan video of the wreck on the final lap of today’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race was blocked on YouTube out of respect for those injured in today’s accident. Information on the status of those fans was unclear and the decision was made to err on the side of caution with this very serious incident.
