    "For every Adrian Peterson who comes back like he has, there are lots of athletes who struggle the first year," Pearle says. "It doesn’t mean they’re not working hard. … But that’s an example of somebody who came back in a very, very remarkable way. We hope for recoveries like that. We don’t always get it."

    “My job is to be out there if I can play,” said Griffin, who took himself out once he realized he couldn’t continue. “I don’t feel like me being out there hurt the team in anyway.”

    But he didn’t regret the decision to perform even though he admitted the leg buckled earlier in the game and required a tape job.

    “I did put myself at more risk by being out there,” the rookie admitted. “That’s just the approach I had to take. My teammates needed me out there.”

    Dr. James Andrews, telling @RobertKlemko that he never cleared RG3 to go back in against the Ravens after the Redskins QB suffered a knee injury.

    When the team revealed RG3’s injury, coach Mike Shanahan said he let Griffin return with the blessing of James Andrews, the renowned orthopedic surgeon, who was on the sideline.
